CNMI SBDC Network and CNMI Women’s Association Announce the 4th Cohort of the Women Entrepreneurship Project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Wednesday, September 18, 2024

(Saipan, MP) The CNMI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network at the Northern Marianas College (NMC) and the CNMI Women’s Association (CWA) are pleased to announce the open registration period of Cohort Four of the Women Entrepreneurship Project, set to take place from October 15 to 18, 2024, at the NMC As Terlaje Campus Room J-15. These sessions, running from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM during the four-day training series, aim to equip women entrepreneurs with practical skills and resources to enhance their business success.

The Women Entrepreneurship Project (WEP) is a collaborative initiative between the CNMI SBDC and CWA, designed to support and nurture women-owned businesses in the Commonwealth. Now in its fourth year, this collaboration has continued to empower women with vital knowledge, mentorship, and networking opportunities to grow their ventures.

Mercilynn Kaneshi Palec, CNMI SBDC Acting Network Director, emphasized the ongoing impact of the program. “Over the years, the Women Entrepreneurship Project has empowered women across the CNMI to overcome barriers in business by equipping them with essential training and support. This fourth cohort builds on that success by offering participants new tools and strategies, from securing credit and accessing federal opportunities to forming strong business partnerships, further enhancing their entrepreneurial journey.”

Dorsha Moreno, President of the CNMI Women’s Association, also highlighted the importance of this initiative. “The Women Entrepreneurship Project has become a cornerstone for empowering local women to take charge of their entrepreneurial journeys. Through this continued partnership with the CNMI SBDC, we’re helping women not only develop critical skills but also connect with resources that can propel their businesses forward. We’re excited to see the positive impact this fourth cohort will have on our community.”

The Women Entrepreneurship Project invites aspiring and established women entrepreneurs to join Cohort 4 and seize the opportunity to take their businesses to new heights. To register for one or all of the trainings, please refer to the following links:
