CNMI Small Business Development Center Network to Host No-Cost Federal Contracting 101 Training

(Saipan, CNMI) The CNMI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network at the Northern Marianas College is pleased to announce its upcoming no-cost training, “Federal Contracting 101”, designed to equip local businesses with the foundational knowledge needed to successfully pursue federal contracting opportunities.

Led by business consultant Sixto K. Igisomar, this training will focus on the essential steps of registering on SAM.gov, the federal government’s System for Award Management, and crafting an effective capabilities statement – a key document used by businesses to market their services to government agencies and prime contractors.

Mr. Igisomar brings a wealth of experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic business growth. With a strong background in business development and corporate governance, he has successfully guided companies through complex procurement landscapes to secure government contracts. As a licensed general consultant and former executive in the insurance industry, Mr. Igisomar specializes in contract negotiations, zoning regulations, business licensing, financial compliance, and corporate risk assessment. His expertise with top-tier construction, insurance, and development firms provides a practical, results-driven approach to federal contracting success.

The CNMI SBDC Network has made federal contracting training a key focus this year, recognizing the increasing federal investment in the Northern Mariana Islands. With the ongoing military buildup, FEMA disaster recovery efforts, and other federal projects injecting millions into the local economy, there is a pressing need for businesses to understand the procurement process and position themselves for success.

The CNMI SBDC Network encourages its clients to register for the upcoming training to take advantage of this no-cost training opportunity. “As we continue to see a surge in federal projects throughout the CNMI, it is essential that our local businesses have the resources and knowledge to compete for these opportunities,” said Nadine C. Deleon Guerrero, Network Director for the CNMI SBDC. “This training is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of our business community and ensure they can maximize the economic benefits coming to our region.”

The Federal Contracting training will be accessible to businesses across all three islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota:
