CNMI SBDC Network to partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s VBOC Program to Host In-person Boots to Business Training Event
(Saipan, CNMI) The CNMI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is calling on all Veterans and Military Service men and women who are interested in starting a business or expanding their existing one.
On Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the CNMI SBDC will be partnering with the U.S. Small Business Administration to bring “Boots to Business”, an in-person training opportunity open to Service members including National Guard and Reservists, and/or their military spouses who are interested in honing in on their entrepreneurial skills.
The 8-hour training event, designed to provide participants with an overview of business ownership, is part of the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program. The training event will be hosted at the Napu Room of the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio, Saipan.
The training session will be presented by Dennis Kwak, Director of the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) of the Pacific out of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Some key topics to be covered include:
â—Ź An Introduction to Business Ownership
â—Ź Basics of Opportunity Recognition
â—Ź Understanding Markets & Your Competitive Space
â—Ź The Economics of Small Business Start-Up
â—Ź Legal Considerations for Veteran-owned Small Businesses
â—Ź An Introduction to Business Planning
The presentation will allow for additional discussion on financing your venture, the sharing of resources to support your efforts, and will also present an opportunity for participants to have a one-on-one discussion with visiting presenter Dennis Kwak.
Recognizing the work of our Veteran community, Nadine C.
