CNMI SBDC Network to partner with Guam APEX Accelerator to Host Federal Contracting 101 Training with CNMI (Saipan) and Rota SBDC Clients
(Saipan, CNMI) The CNMI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is pleased to announce its partnership with the Guam APEX Accelerator in hosting an in-person, two-day, dual-island training series on positioning businesses based in the municipalities of Saipan and Rota towards becoming procurement-ready for federally-funded business opportunities.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, the CNMI SBDC will be hosting “Federal Contracting 101”, a training opportunity for SBDC clients and local businesses to learn how to develop capacity towards bidding for military and/or federal contracts. The training will be held at 4:30 PM in Room V109 at the Northern Marianas College campus in As Terlaje, Saipan.
On Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, the Rota SBDC will host the same training event for its Rota clients and small businesses to avail of the same educational opportunity. Training on Rota will be held at Room A1 of the Northern Marianas College Rota Center at 10:00 AM.
Both training sessions will be presented by Boris Hertslet, Program Manager of the Guam APEX Accelerator.
Nadine C. Deleon Guerrero, Network Director of the CNMI SBDC Network, invites all to attend this great no-cost training opportunity, “The CNMI SBDC remains committed to expanding access to economic opportunities for our local businesses by increasing their chances of obtaining contracts with the federal government. Arming your business with this capability will be critical as the number of Department of Defense projects intensify within our region. Registering in SAM.gov and understanding the inner-workings of federal contracting are the initial steps towards achieving that.” Deleon Guerrero adds, “Even if a business is already registered in SAM.gov, they should still attend as procedures and regulations tend to change year-to-year.”
This training opportunity will offer information on the following topics of discussion:
- Registering in System for Award Management (SAM.gov)
- Getting Certified with the Federal Government 8(a) Program
- Finding Federal Opportunities: Exploring contract opportunities in SAM, how to interpret solicitations, and incorporating good search strategies
- Creating/Updating Marketing Capability Statements or Statements of Qualification
- Veterans Certification
- Cybersecurity for Federal Contractors
